The enemy’s massive missile attack on Ukrainian cities lasted from 4 to 7 in the morning — energy and other critical infrastructure facilities were hit, residential buildings were damaged.
Kharkiv, which received more than 15 strikes on energy facilities alone, is now without electricity, and the subway is operating as a shelter. The rescue service number 101 is temporarily not working – the police advises to forward calls to 102 (the backup number 1562 is also working).
In Kryvyi Rih, Kropyvnytskyi, Poltava Oblast and Sumy Oblast, emergency shutdown schedules are in use. In Odesa – stabilizing power outages, in Dnipro – emergency. Zaporizhzhia, where Russia attacked the Dnipro HPP, is also partially de-energized – traffic on the dam is completely blocked.
“The equipment of the stations was seriously damaged. After the end of the shelling, the employees of the enterprises quickly started to eliminate the consequences and restore the operation of the equipment,” the DPEK press service wrote.
According to Energoatom, due to a mass attack, the temporarily occupied nuclear power plant was on the verge of blackout: at 5:10 a.m., the external overhead line of PL-750kV “Dniprovska”, which connects the temporarily occupied nuclear power plant with the unified energy system of Ukraine, was disconnected.
Currently, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe is connected to the Ukrainian power system only by the power transmission line PL-330kV Zaporizhzhya TPP – Ferosplavna. This line was recently repaired by the forces of Ukrainian energy workers, as it was not working for a long time due to damage caused by another Russian shelling.
“Such a situation is extremely dangerous and threatens an emergency situation. If the last line of communication with the domestic power grid is disconnected, the ZNPP will find itself in another blackout, which is a serious violation of the conditions of safe operation of the plant,” said Petro Kotin, head of the Energoatom.
The head of NEC “Ukrenergo” Volodymyr Kudrytsky called the morning attack on energy facilities “the biggest ever”:
“It is characterized by the fact that combined means of defeat were used. The attack was carried out by various regions of Ukraine, thermal and hydroelectric power stations, as well as mainline substations operated by Ukrenergo.
According to Kudrytskyi, the enemy targeted various objects of the energy system — generation, high-voltage substations, substations of distribution operators.
“Unfortunately, there are restrictions on energy supply in various regions of Ukraine, mainly on the left bank of the Dnieper. I emphasize that these are controlled restrictions so that the system works as a whole. Most of the questions are about the damage status of DniproHPP: while there are no risks of a dam breach, the damage status is being clarified and will be finally understood in a few hours,” said the head of NEC Ukrenergo.
In addition, Internet problems are observed in Ukraine, reports Netblocks. The consequences are most noticeable in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi.
