“Kyivstar” has announced a new wave of tariff updates, which will affect, in particular, subscriptions – this time the conditions of those that have not been updated since last year and earlier are subject to revision. New conditions for more than 20 tariffs will come into effect on April 9.

“Kyivstar” raises tariffs – when, what and by how much

On March 26, Kyivstar announced on its website about the changes in the conditions of some prepaid tariffs and the Kyivstar contract in the most opaque way – the operator focuses on “updating the content” without properly informing about the actual changes and increase in the cost of services. For some subscription tariffs, the conditions change from April 9, 2024, for contract tariffs and business customers – from May 1, 2024. Subscribers have already started receiving “letters of happiness” SMS with details about the new conditions and the current price, which must be sent at least 7 days before the implementation of the changes.

“We are responsible for the mission of providing communication in the difficult conditions of a full-scale war, in which our country and citizens have been living for more than 2 years.

In order to offer our subscribers more opportunities to communicate with family, as well as to continue investing in network expansion and cyber protection, we are updating the content and terms of service.”

“Kyivstar”

The operator sweetens the traditionally bitter pill of the price increase by increasing the volume of services in these tariffs: it promises more mobile Internet, minutes for calls and services such as Superpowers or Roaming like at home. Unfortunately, the operator did not provide a complete list of tariffs, in which conditions and costs change, but it is provided by the MZU Telegram channel.

We compared it with the list of archive tariffs on the “Kyivstar” Kyivstar” website and found several screenshots of SMS from subscribers (below), who confirm the changes and are somewhat confused by some wording.

New terms of payment for services outside the tariff

Separately, “Kyivstar” warns about the unification of payment conditions for additional service packages after using the main one, such as Internet, calls and SMS. Previously, after using the tariff gigabytes, the subscriber paid UAH 10. for every next 100 MB. Now for UAH 20 the company will provide unlimited Internet until the end of the day.

Subscribers can find out more details about the changes by calling 477*9 or in the My Kyivstar application. The operator separately notes that instead of the company’s offer, clients can always choose any other from the current line that better meets their needs in terms of service volume and cost.

Last week, Kyivstar published its financial report for 2023 – the first since the December cyber attack. In it, the operator recorded a loss of 700 million UAH ($24 million) in revenue and 200,000 subscribers.
