“Arkain” is accused of PR by the Russians. In the video dedicated to the anniversary of the release of the animated series on Netflix, a cosplayer from St. Petersburg was spotted

A few days ago, the official accounts of the Arcane show on Instagram and Twitter published a video dedicated to the anniversary of the release of the series on Netflix. Among a dozen English-speaking cosplayers and YouTubers, a Russian blogger was spotted in the video.

Twitter users point out that the video “Arkain” features Russian YouTuber Victoria, known by the nickname “vikarter” on Instagram.

Judging by the information on social networks, the girl now lives in St. Petersburg, and therefore, her money earned from blogging replenishes the budget of the aggressor country, which sponsors the crimes of the Russian army in Ukraine.

“After @arcaneshow promoted her, more people started following her content, which means she gets more profit, which means more funds will go to the Russian army! Thanks to @arcaneshow, more funds will go to the genocide of Ukrainians!” – the Twitter user under the nickname Maki is indignant.

It is noted that all the participants in the video speak English, and only Victoria speaks Russian, so English subtitles were added to the video especially for her.

Arcane, an animated fantasy adventure series, was released on Netflix in November 2021. The project was created on the basis of the League of Legends game on the occasion of its tenth anniversary by Riot Games and Fortiche Production. The action of the animated series takes place in the fictional cities of Piltover and Zaun, where two sisters fight from different sides of the barricades.

“You understand the scale of this absurdity in general. Arcane is a cartoon that shows the tragedy of war, all the pain of children who have lost their parents, who will remain traumatized for life. Not a single word was said in support of Ukraine, but they calmly promote the Russians on their official channel,” Maki writes.

Just yesterday, Netflix got into the epicenter of another scandal – in a publication advertising the TV series “Vikings: Valhalla”, Yaroslav the Wise was called the ruler of “Northern Russia”. The Ukrainian Twitter community immediately raised the alarm, noting that when the prince ruled in Kyiv, the state “Russia” did not even exist.

Later, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine advised Netflix to “get acquainted with the lessons of history.” In a few hours, the publication in the account of the series was deleted.

Another scandal occurred in December 2021 during the release of the second season of the series “Emily in Paris”, where one of the heroines, a Ukrainian by nationality, was portrayed as an ignorant thief. The Ministry of Culture sent an official letter to Netflix — the streaming service thanked them for their reaction and said that they “heard the concerns of Ukrainians.”

As for the scandal with “Arkeyn”, the pages of the project in social networks have not yet reacted to the outrage of Ukrainians. The video with the Russian woman was available for viewing at the time of publication.
