Microsoft plans to launch a version of Bing that will use ChatGPT to generate answers to search queries.
AI technology ChatGPT, created by OpenAI, could provide more “human” answers to questions, rather than just links to information. Both Google and Bing already display relevant text from links at the top of many queries, but Google’s knowledge panels are more common when information is about people, places, organizations, and things.
Microsoft’s use of ChatGPT-like functionality could help Bing compete with Google’s Knowledge Graph, a knowledge base Google uses to provide instant answers that is regularly updated through web crawling and user feedback.
Last year, ChatGPT took text-based AI mainstream, helping users write poems, essays, or even code. Based on the large language model GPT-3.5, it impressed many with its ability to provide realistic answers to questions. But despite its skills, the system still has serious flaws, including racial bias and a tendency to pass off fake information as truth.

Even OpenAI CEO Sam Altman warned that “it is a mistake to rely on [ChatGPT] for something important now.”
ChatGPT is incredibly limited, but it’s nice to have some thoughts that create despite capturing a lot.
it’s a mistake to be relying on it for any important right life. it’s a preview of progress; we have lots of work to do on strength and truthfulness.

While ChatGPT could help Bing challenge its main competitor, Google has already said it will immediately launch the chatbot due to “reputational risks”, its bias and not always truthful information. However, Google has been using other major AI language models for years to subtly improve its search engine.
Microsoft Corporation has close ties with OpenAI, one of the world’s leading artificial intelligence companies. The Redmond-based tech giant adds an AI model for image-to-text conversion to Bing based on OpenAI’s DALL-E 2; invested $1 billion in OpenAI in 2019; and has an exclusive license to use the GPT-3 AI text generator.
