TrendForce has recorded a further increase in demand for computer monitors. The reason is the further spread of remote work and distance learning in the context of the ongoing pandemic.
An estimated 2020 million PC monitors were sold globally in 140. The increase in shipments compared to the previous year was 8,6% – the largest increase in about ten years.
In the first quarter of this year, deliveries jumped on an annualized basis by more than a third – by 34,1%. In the current quarter, growth, according to analysts’ forecasts, will be at the level of 10%.
By the end of 2021, in general, sales of monitors can reach 150 million units, having increased by 7,3% compared to last year. Game panels account for approximately 17,3% of the total shipments, or 25,9 million pieces.
It is noted that among the ten leading suppliers of PC monitors in 2021, Samsung Electronics will show the greatest growth – about 20%. At ASUS, shipments will increase by more than 10% year on year.
