The Swedish holding company Embracer Group, which includes THQ Nordic and Koch Media, continues to buy studios. It included four more teams, including Kaiko Games, which created the remasters of Red Faction: Guerrilla and Darksiders, and Appeal Studios, known for Outcast. The new deals cost SEK 71 million ($ 8,5 million).

• Appeal Studios (part of THQ Nordic) is a Belgian studio founded in 1995. She is best known for the action-adventure Outcast, released in 1999 with the participation of Infogrames. In 2002, she filed for bankruptcy, but in 2018 the founders reopened it. Not long before that, an updated version of Outcast with the subtitle Second Contact was released. The team is currently working on some kind of groundbreaking sci-fi open-world action adventure game.

• Kaiko Games (became part of THQ Nordic) is a German studio that has existed since 1990. By 1995, it had virtually ceased operations, releasing only three games (Gem’X, Apidya, and Software Manager). It was also revived in 2015 to work on re-releases of games for THQ Nordic. The team’s track record includes Legend of Kay: Anniversary, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition and Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered. She is currently preparing a story addition to the remaster of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

• Massive miniteam (part of THQ Nordic) is another German team. Her profile is indie games and apps for VR and AR. The studio will be assisted by HandyGames, which published its platforming games Spitlings and Squishies and became part of THQ Nordic in 2018. 
• Frame break (became a part of Amplifier Game Invest) – a young Swedish team, numbering only five people. Going to create co-op projects for PC and consoles with high replay potential. He is currently working on Farmech, in which players must develop a farm on an exotic planet using robots.

In addition, the company has opened a new studio, Gate 21, with an office in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She will create XNUMXD characters for THQ Nordic games using “The most advanced technologies”.

In total, the four acquired studios employ over 90 employees. Now the holding owns 68 studios employing more than 7 people. Last year, the company bought the creators Metro and Shadow Warrior, and this April, the developers of Borderlands. By April 100, she plans to release more than 2022 premium projects.
