Intel is positioning the new processors as high-performance solutions for ultraportable notebooks. With these models, for example, 4K gaming will be possible. At 1080p, the company promises 70+ fps.
The processors support PCI Express 4.0 (20 lanes) to run the latest discrete graphics and fastest storage devices. There is also Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6 / 6E. The models are built on the new Willow Cove microarchitecture. Intel is talking about a 19 percent increase in multi-threaded performance over the previous generation. In terms of single-threaded performance, the company claims that the new Tiger Lake H are the fastest in the mobile segment.
The Willow Cove microarchitecture, by the way, is based on the 10nm SuperFin process technology. The graphics here are represented by the Intel Xe architecture.
