Supermicro has announced two interesting new products – X12DPL-NT6 and X12DPL-i6 motherboards based on the Intel C621A chipset, designed for building two-socket systems with third-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, codenamed Ice Lake-SP.
Typically, boards with the ability to install two processors are E-ATX or, say, SSB-EEB. Supermicro’s new items correspond to the ATX standard size – their dimensions are 310 × 254 mm. In both cases, two LGA-4189 (Socket P +) connectors are available with the ability to install chips with a TDP of up to 185 W and two UPI lines (10,4 GT / s).
Supports up to 2 TB of DDR4-3200 / 2933/2666 RAM in eight modules. The cards allow you to use up to 12 SATA 3.0 ports with the possibility of forming RAID 0/1/5/10 arrays. In addition, you can install two M.2 2280/22110 solid-state modules with PCIe 4.0 x4 interface.
Model X12DPL-i6 has two 1GbE network ports (Intel i210) and four PCIe 4.0 x16 slots. The X12DPL-NT6 version received two 10GbE ports (Intel X550). The interface unit, in addition to sockets for network cables, contains two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports and an analog D-Sub connector for image output (BMC ASPEED AST2600).
