The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation (Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia) believes that the shortage of electronic components for the automotive industry will be eliminated by the end of the coming summer.
Currently, the problem of a shortage of processors and other semiconductor components is observed in a variety of market sectors – from smartphones and computers to TVs and cars. This is forcing companies around the world to reduce or suspend production of equipment. At the same time, prices for certain types of products are growing.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade notes that there is no shortage of cars in Russia now. But the situation on the microchip market has already provoked an increased demand for certain models. To speed up the supply of the necessary components to car manufacturers, trade missions of the Russian Federation abroad joined the process.
«The Russian automotive industry continues to work, despite the fact that in world practice, starting from February-March this year, we have already seen many cases when large factories stop due to understaffing of cars with electronic systems. The situation is expected to stabilize by the end of summer“, – TASS quotes the statements of the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
It is also noted that the department continues to actively cooperate with both automakers and their suppliers to solve the problem of component shortages.
