A group of hackers known as DarkSide, which hacked North American pipeline operator Colonial Pipeline a week ago, boasted three new victims. Over the past 24 hours, the group has posted on its website on the darknet information about three companies whose data it stole and is now demanding a ransom.
Apparently, the hackers are not intimidated by the investigation initiated by the FBI and the Biden administration, and they do not intend to stop their activities. Recall that this week they apologized for the consequences for the public that the Colonial Pipeline hack inflicted on the United States, and said that they did not want to participate in geopolitics and therefore would be more careful in choosing new targets.
The three hacked DarkSide companies are located in the US, Brazil and Scotland. The hackers reported that they stole 600 GB of data from a US company that is a reseller of technology services, including passwords, financial and personnel information, including employee passports. The Brazilian company operates in the field of renewable energy sources. She lost 400 GB of data, including personal customer data and contract details.
A company from Scotland, DarkSide stole 900 GB of information, including contracts, as well as commercial and personal data for three years. The hacked companies have not yet commented on the incident.
