The researchers stated that a love of less heavy music is associated with a healthier diet. The study involved 215 representatives of different cultures in China and Denmark. Each participant had to make a choice between “harmful” and “healthy” food, as well as between music of different genres.
It turned out that people who listened to quieter music preferred healthier food. Those who listened to more aggressive music opted for less wholesome foods. Scientists have come to the conclusion that the nature of the sound of heavy metal prevents the brain from regulating the decision-making process.
The researchers noted that the effect of different sounds on food intake is underestimated.
