Tesla has high hopes for the beta version of the FSD v9 software, since it will automatically drive through intersections and rely mainly on data from video cameras. Elon Musk’s recent comments make it clear that this version of the software will be available to test takers in June, and the monthly subscription to FSD will also be delayed until next month.
When the head of Tesla spoke about the FSD subscription last time, he promised that the option will be available to customers from May of this year. The month is inexorably approaching the middle, and therefore Elon Musk found it necessary to announce the next transfer from Twitter pages. The subscription, he said, should become available to car owners in about a month. This form of access to a complex of active driver assistance systems is an alternative to buying an option for permanent use for $ 10. It may interest those who use rented Tesla electric vehicles or lease them with the need for further return. Musk stressed that buying FSD for permanent use would be more profitable from a financial point of view, but the amount of the monthly subscription fee for the subscription has not yet been specified.
At the same time, Musk said that the ninth beta version of FSD will begin to be distributed in the United States next week, and the final release after eliminating the remaining bugs will take place a couple of weeks later. The difference compared to the previous version of FSD will be huge, as the head of the company assured. The driver will still have to constantly monitor the operation of the automation, and the corresponding software is still formally in beta testing, so it is available only to a limited number of testers from among Tesla employees and private owners of electric vehicles participating in the program. In the ninth version of the software, the company seeks to almost completely abandon the use of radar data, focusing on the machine vision system. Elon Musk is also a categorical opponent of the use of lidars in automatic vehicle control systems.
