Judging by the recent American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) rating, Apple has lost its leadership among the most popular smartphones, yielding to Samsung. While Samsung and Apple remain the undisputed leaders of the US smartphone market, Apple has lost its leading position in 2020 and 2021.
Samsung’s rating is unchanged from last year at 81 points. At the same time, Apple lost 2 points and dropped to 80, dropping to second place, while Motorola and Google took third and fourth places.
Among smartphones, Samsung products undoubtedly dominate: the top three include Galaxy Note10 +, Galaxy S10 + and Galaxy S20 +, each of which scored 85 points, the fourth and fifth – Galaxy S20 and Galaxy A20 (84 and 83 points). Sixth place is taken by five models with 82 points: Samsung Galaxy S10, Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone X and iPhone XS Max.
ACSI did not explain why Samsung managed to oust Apple from the top spot. Researchers interviewed respondents between April 2020 and March 2021.
Additionally, the results indicate a rather conservative American preference. All of the first 24 models in the ranking are manufactured or manufactured by Samsung or Apple. Connoisseurs of Motorola and Google have their own audience, but it is too small and changes are not expected in the near future.
