Independent Canadian studio Red Hook in the official microblogging of its dark role-playing tactics Darkest Dungeon announced the imminent disclosure of new details of the upcoming sequel.
As it became known, Darkest Dungeon II (that’s the name of the sequel) was one of the main topics in the next issue of PC Gamer magazine. The issue will go on sale tomorrow, May 27th.
PC Gamer will offer readers “Exclusive first sight” on Darkest Dungeon II. Red Hook Studios has also attached a spread image from an upcoming magazine to its post.
In addition to the new illustration with the four dejected adventurers, the screenshot published by the developers contains, apparently, the slogan of Darkest Dungeon II – Ride or Die (“Ride or die”).
As in the case of the first part, the full release of Darkest Dungeon II will follow the Early Access period, during which the game will be exclusive to the digital Epic Games Store.
The launch of the pre-release version of Darkest Dungeon II is expected during this year, and the announcement of the exact date will be in its second half. They plan to keep the game in this state for about 12 months.
At the end of the Early Access period, Darkest Dungeon II will appear in the assortment of other PC sites. The developers talked about why the project became a temporary EGS exclusive in November 2020.
