Last week, Bloomberg reported that Apple is working on a new, more powerful version of the Mac mini. It is assumed that the device will be based on the powerful ARM chipset of the same family as the upcoming Mac Pro. Now insider Jon Prosser has shown the upcoming Mac mini in renders.
According to Prosser, the new computer will retain the basic design features of the current Mac mini, but will be noticeably thinner. An insider claims that the device will offer users the same set of connectors as the latest Intel-based Mac mini. If this data is confirmed, users will get four Thunderbolt ports, two USB Type-A, Ethernet and HDMI. Another difference from its predecessor will be the case, the top panel of which will be made of plexiglass.
Prosser said Apple is working on two-tone designs for the Mac mini, similar to the new iMacs. The insider also noted that the new compact computer will receive the same magnetic power connector as the latest iMac.
Recall that the current Mac mini based on the ARM-based M1 processor was presented in November last year. It is not yet clear when the new high-performance Mac minis will be unveiled. Bloomberg claims that Apple may still change its mind about releasing a powerful compact computer.
