The Games Industry portal has shared information on sales of retail editions of games in the UK for the period from 16 to 22 May 2021. The week was marked by a return to the first line of Resident Evil Village.
Capcom’s new horror shooter took the lead from second place a week earlier, despite a 61 percent drop in sales. The lion’s share of copies was sold on PlayStation consoles – 44% on PS4 and 29% on PS5.
The previous week’s triumphant Mass Effect Legendary Edition dropped from first place to third after a 76% drop in sales. About 72% of the sold copies of the collection were on PS4, the remaining 28% on Xbox One.
Following Resident Evil Village in the ranking is the Switch version of the role-playing game Miitopia. The initial project result is 36% better than the July 3 edition for Nintendo 2017DS.
Another new release was Rust: Console Edition, ranked 11th. The project turned out to be almost equally popular on both consoles of the past generation: 54% of the copies sold were on the PS4, 46% on the Xbox One.
As for the debutants of the previous weeks, the underwater survival simulator Subnautica: Below Zero dropped from the fifth line to the 14th, and the roguelike shooter Returnal fell out of the top thirty.
