Lenta.ru writes about Frank Kendall’s proposal. The ministerial candidate believes that increasing the number of aircraft will help reduce the cost of the air fleet. He claims that “there is a very strong correlation between the size of the fleet and the cost of maintaining it.”
Kendall said the Pentagon should look to “reduce costs and maintain a reasonable pace of procurement” for the F-35 Lightning II program.
Earlier, Kendall said that he supports the purchase of 145 B-21 Raider bombers by the Pentagon. Also recently, a member of the US House of Representatives Donald Norcross admitted that there is a shortage of 800 fighters in the US. At the same time, influential representatives of the US Democratic Party decided not to support an increase in funding for the F-35 program.
