Microsoft is planning to release the next major update to Windows 11 (version 22H2) on September 20, according to people familiar with the matter. The update will become available through Windows Update.
The new version of Windows 11 22H2 will include a number of improvements such as application folders in the Start menu, drag and drop on the taskbar, and new touch gestures and animations. Microsoft is also adding a new Live Captions accessibility feature designed for deaf and hard of hearing people. It allows you to automatically add subtitles to audio. Additionally, a new Voice Access feature is being introduced that allows people to control their PCs with voice commands.
The Task Manager in Windows 11 22H2 has received a new dark mode and an improved look and feel that includes a new command bar and efficiency mode to limit resource consumption by apps. Improvements await the Snap Layouts feature. We’ve made it easier to drag and drop and better showcase layouts that you can use to organize your apps.
However, tabs in File Explorer will not appear as part of the Windows 11 22H2 update. According to Windows Central, another update is planned for 22H2 this year, which includes File Explorer tabs and a new Suggested Actions feature.
