Microsoft has added the ability to create slides in portrait mode to its PowerPoint mobile application. This feature is available in beta version 2.68 for members of the Microsoft Office Insider program. For now, only iPhone and iPad owners can try the new feature.
The increase in popularity of content in portrait mode is caused by the services of TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. As people have adapted to consuming content in their phone’s original vertical orientation, software tools must also accommodate these habits. So PowerPoint Mobile for iOS now allows users to toggle portrait mode on and off while creating or editing slides. Microsoft says that these innovations are caused by the wishes of users.
The new portrait orientation of PowerPoint content can be accessed from the Design tab. Here you need to select the “Orientation” item and set the portrait mode.
