Last year, the Dnipro District Administrative Court revoked the right to operate the Dnipropetrovsk airport to the company of oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskyi. After that there was an appeal. But now, after considering the appeal, the decision has entered into force. This was reported by the press service of the Dnipro City Council.
It is emphasized that the Haltera company from Kolomoiskyi’s Privat group operated the airport in Dnipro for 15 years. It was she who decided which airlines could fly from Dnipro airport. According to lawyer Olena Donenko, the company artificially created a monopoly by concentrating property and the air fleet in one hand.
The Court of Appeal recognized as legal the decision to revoke the right to operate the Dnipropetrovsk airport owned by the oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky’s company. However, there should still be a court of cassation. However, the mayor of Dnipro, Borys Filatov, believes that “the airport has already been torn from the hands of the oligarch.” The trial lasted 2 years.
“After all the court disputes, illnesses of the judges themselves, numerous adjournments and other strange miracles, we won this case. Now I can hope that Kolomoisky will no longer be a parasite at the City airport,” said Boris Filatov.
The mayor of Dnipro also added that in the future the airport will finally be able to work with low-costs, and the cost of flights will stop being artificially inflated. However, this will happen only after the victory in the war against Russia and the restoration of the airfield.
