For the first time in three years, QuakeCon will take place physically. Bethesda has shared information about the date and format of the event, which will take place from August 10 to 13 in Grapevine, Texas. The physical presence at the event will still be smaller than in years past, with an emphasis on a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) party over the local area network.
Twitch will be streaming events for those who can’t make it to QuakeCon in person. Interviews and various announcements are usually held in this format. Bethesda’s Starfield is scheduled for release on September 6, 2023 – perhaps some of the events will be dedicated to this game
“QuakeCon is our favorite event of the year, and we can’t wait to finally get to see our incredible community in person again, celebrate the games, and spend the entire weekend with thousands of friends,” said Marty Stretton, studio head of id Software.
There will be no free entry to QuakeCon – only pre-registered BYOC attendees will be able to access. The raffle of elite registration packages for the event will start on April 11, and regular pre-registration will begin on April 21. The full QuakeCon 2023 schedule will be available at a later date.
E3 will not be this year – and it is unlikely to return
