First gameplay teaser for Sonic Frontiers released

Sonic Team has released a very short teaser trailer for the upcoming Sonic Frontiers game. In the video, you can see how the most famous hedgehog in the world rushes through the fields, scans the area and fights with opponents. Apparently, the game will have a variety of enemies, since the teaser showed not only small robots, but also rather bulky ones (and they look like opponents from Horizon: Zero Dawn). The blue hedgehog will have to run around the open world, which is visually a bit like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The aesthetic of Sonic Frontiers is very different from previous 3D Sonic games: it looks more realistic than Sonic Adventure, Sonic ’06 or Sonic Unleashed.

And in the video, a fragment with Sonic was lit up, where he collects rings on the rails.

The game will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch this year.

Sonic Frontiers and many other interesting projects will be presented next week during the Summer Games Fest. The event will run from June 10 to July 22 and will be streamed live on YouTube, Twitch, Twitter and Facebook. You can also watch the event on the big screen, specifically in IMAX cinemas – but only in the USA, Canada and the UK (tickets on sale from May 12).

Netflix announces Sonic Prime animated series about Sonic the Hedgehog, the first season of 24 episodes will be released in 2022
