In the spring of this year, the lion’s share of world brands left Russia. Smartphone manufacturers were no exception, among which was Huawei . Now the list has been replenished with her daughter Honor, which has stopped official deliveries of devices to Russia. The source of the news was one of the distributors of electronics, and one of the largest telecom operators confirmed it. At the same time, Honor itself did not make any official statements about leaving Russia, but refused to comment.
It is reported that at the moment the company is trying to find partners in countries neighboring Russia in order to open supply routes through “parallel imports”. And although consumer electronics are not subject to restrictions, Chinese companies prefer to play it safe, stopping supplies in anticipation of the legalization of “parallel imports”. Quite a few Chinese brands have already resorted to this practice, seeking to avoid possible secondary sanctions against them. According to MTS calculations, in the second quarter of this year, Honor failed to enter the top five smartphone sellers in Russia, taking only 4.2% of the market. Two years earlier, this figure was 17.9%.
