Romero Games notes that this mysterious game from John Romero is a completely new FPS on a new IP, developed on the latest Unreal Engine 5 engine with the support of a major publisher (his name has not yet been released). In addition, among the open vacancies you can find the position of Senior Multiplayer and many mentions of the multiplayer mode for the upcoming game.
While the project is at an early stage of production, there are no other details and even approximate release dates. On what platforms the game will be released is also unclear. John Romero announced the recruitment of developers to the team and urged all those interested to look at open vacancies on the official website of the studio.
More than 10 vacancies are open on the Romero Games website in various fields of activity – programming, design and art. At the same time, the studio notes that this list is not final and that more new vacancies will appear on the site in the future.
Clearly, this mysterious FPS is Romero Games’ biggest project and the first substantial FPS of John Romero’s career in years. The game designer has not released anything so outstanding for a long time – in 2019, the SIGIL level set for the original Doom was released , which became the unofficial fifth episode of the game, and now he is working, among other things, on SIGIL 2.
Early in 1994, John Romero released a new price for DOOM 2: €5. Pennies go to help Ukraine
