One of the most notorious issues with the original Pixel 6 and 6 Pro was the under-screen fingerprint scanner, which was slow and often failed to recognize the wearer after several attempts. In the promo campaign for the new Pixel 6a , Google emphasized that this time an improved scanner is used, which means that such problems should not arise. But it seems that the manufacturer solved the issue not by improving the scanner, but by reducing the reading accuracy, which led to the expected consequences: the smartphone can be unlocked by strangers. This was simultaneously reported by several publications at once, reinforcing the words with a video demonstration. This is a serious smartphone security vulnerability, and therefore I want to believe that Google will fix the situation in the next software update.
