Nokia phones will lose Zeiss logo and technologies

Smartphone manufacturers are increasingly announcing collaborations with major photo brands, but this story is not new – back in 2005, Nokia, together with Zeiss, created the “photo flagship” Nokia N90. It brought a lot of innovation back then; for example, the N90 was the world’s first phone with glass camera optics. (And to this day, not all smartphones can boast of this!) Cooperation between Nokia and Zeiss continued until the very deal with Microsoft, and then was “picked up” by HMD Global – Zeiss helped her with the flagship Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 PureView, as well as a number of other models .

The last Nokia with Zeiss optics was the Nokia XR20, and after that, according to NokiaMob, it was decided to end the cooperation. Therefore, if HMD Global releases a new X-series phone with not the weakest cameras, then Zeiss will have nothing to do with it. Perhaps in the future, HMD Global will be able to enter into a new partnership.
