Google is known for its grandiose “losses” of prototypes of future gadgets: before the story of the Pixel Watch forgotten in the restaurant was lost, new heroes appeared on the scene – the early prototypes of the Pixel 7 line. A person who bought a Pixel 7 Pro on the marketplace got in touch on Reddit Facebook (an organization banned in the Russian Federation), where it was sold under the name Pixel 6 Pro. He claims that he used the device for three weeks, until at one point the smartphone began to behave strangely.
According to the owner, yesterday morning the screen of the device began to flicker, after which an inscription appeared about resetting to factory settings and deleting all data. Now, when the smartphone is turned on, the Fastboot mode starts, which the owner demonstrates with several photos. For the past three weeks, the Pixel 7 Pro has worked flawlessly. Apparently, having discovered the loss, Google remotely deactivated the smartphone, at the same time erasing all the data on it.
The owner claims that “the device was running Tiramisu” – this is the code name of Android 13. Judging by the pictures, the device is equipped with 12 GB of LPDRR5 RAM and 256 GB of storage, and the name Cubot Cheetah 2 indicated in the “Device Info” panel was chosen by Google engineers in order to conspiracies.
In response to questions, the owner said that the Pixel 6 Pro’s simple clear case was a perfect fit for the Pixel 7, as was the screen protector, “because it’s almost the same size screen.” The latter, by the way, confirms the recent rumor about the use of the same display panels in the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro as their predecessors. Let’s hope that this story will be developed in the near future. Well, two days earlier, live photos of the base Pixel 7 surfaced on the Web.
