Samsung Electronics announced the start of global sales of the 2022 Odyssey gaming monitor line, which is represented by three models – G85NB, G75NB and G40B. The most interesting among them, perhaps, is the G85NB model, which the manufacturer calls the world’s first gaming monitor with 4K resolution and support for 240 Hz. It is available in a single size – with a screen diagonal of 32 inches.

Odysseus Neo G8 (G85NB)

The Odyssey Neo G8 was first announced at the January CES 2022 along with the 32-inch Smart Monitor M8 for home entertainment and the professional High Resolution Monitor S8 . This is a more compact version of the Odyssey G9 49-inch curved gaming monitor, released in late 2021 with a suggested price of 59,999 UAH . The new Odyssey Neo G8 uses a 32-inch Quantum Mini LED backlit panel with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz.

In other respects, the 32-inch Odyssey Neo G8 is in no way inferior to the older 49-inch version: peak brightness reaches 2000 nits, response time is 1 ms (G2G), and static contrast ratio is 1,000,000:1. Support for adaptive frame synchronization NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, as well as HDMI 2.1 from Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) also remained in place. Radius of curvature – similar to 1000 mm.

The design also remained unchanged – Odyssey Neo G8 is made in a glossy white case with dark frames and is equipped with an adjustable stand. On the back is Core Lighting RGB with CoreSync.

Odyssey Neo G7 (G75NB)

A step down is the Odyssey Neo G7 (G75NB), a 32-inch 4K (3840×2160) monitor with a VA 1000R curved panel, 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (GtG).

Deep gaming immersion is enhanced by the CoreSync backlight on the back of the monitor.

Odyssey G4 (G40B)

The G40B is the base and affordable model of Samsung’s new 2022 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup. It is offered in two screen sizes – 25 and 27 inches. It uses an IPS panel with a wide viewing angle and HDR10 support. Other key specs: Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time (GtG). NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies are also supported.
