The first rumors about the appearance of a sequel to the mega-successful film “Joker” ( $1.1 billion in fees with a budget of $55 million ) went even before the end of its film distribution, in 2019 . However, time passed, the industry was mowed down by the coronavirus, and there was no fresh news about the continuation. But today, the director of the first part, Tod Phillips, broke the silence and voiced several interesting facts at once. To do this, he needed only one post on Instagram.
In the first photo you can see the cover of the script with the authors in the person of Scott Silver and Tod Phillips himself (the same pair of authors wrote the script for the first picture). The subtitle of the painting “Joker: Folie à deux” / “Joker: Madness for Two” is also noteworthy, denoting a medical term from the section of psychiatry. In the second photo, Joaquin Phoenix, who plays the Joker, is carefully studying the script for the film.

It is significant that the official representatives of the film company Warner Bros. so far no response to Tod Phillips’ post. However, it is unlikely that the author would have posted such information if the project had not received a green light from the studio.
Recall that earlier Todd Phillips said that he had no plans for a sequel, but in general he was not against a sequel if the authors managed to maintain the atmosphere of the original and find a catchy topic.
