GSC Game World has abandoned the Russian voice acting of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and moved the game to 2023

Ukrainian studio GSC Game World has shared some important news regarding the hotly anticipated role-playing shooter STALKER 2.

STALKER 2. will be dubbed into English and Ukrainian (no Russian)

When GSC Game World first changed the spelling of the STALKER 2 subtitle from the Russian transliteration of Heart of ChErnobyl to the correct Ukrainian one – Heart of ChOrnobyl , and then completely refused to sell STALKER 2 in Russia due to armed aggression against Ukraine , we wrote that the next logical step is refusal of the Russian localization of the game. And now there is official confirmation that GSC Game World has abandoned the Russian voiceover of STALKER 2 its mention for some time disappeared from the official website of the game, which was previously blocked in Russia , since the developers support Ukraine and call a spade a spade. In addition, GSC Game World PR manager Zakhar Bocharov confirmed in the Discord channel that GSC Game World decided to abandon the Russian voice acting in STALKER 2 the official full localization will be only in Ukrainian and English. At the same time, the game will receive subtitles in 16 languages, including Russian.

STALKER 2 postponed to 2023

Initially, STALKER 2 was scheduled to be released on April 28, 2022, but in early 2022, the studio pushed back the release to December 8, 2022 . On March 2, the Kyiv developer was forced to suspend development while the workers were relocated and providing assistance to their families due to the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine. In May, it was reported that GSC Game World had resumed work on STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl after relocating to the Czech Republic . And now GSC Game World has confirmed that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has moved to 2023.

The first game of the famous series of shooters from GSC Game World was released in 2007, and in the next two years, the developers released two additions to the game. The development of the second part of STALKER was reported back in 2010, but work on the project was suspended several times.
