After the long-awaited introduction of 120Hz screens to the iPhone, the next big thing in Apple smartphones could be the periscope camera. Rumors about working on it have been circulating on the Web for more than a year , and last summer, a patent for its design from Apple was approved by the American regulator. Earlier this year, Cupertino held talks with Chinese manufacturer Lante Optics, receiving component samples from them, and now, according to 9to5Mac, citing analyst Jeff Pu (Jeff Pu), “Lante Optics is actively increasing production capacity for the production of prisms” – a key periscope camera element.
Apparently, Apple was satisfied with the product, and therefore the sources see “a very high chance of introducing such cameras in future iPhones.” And although we are obviously talking about the models of 2023, it is still not known for certain whether the periscope will become part of both “firmware” or whether it will be exclusive to the big iPhone 15 Pro Max, as was the case with matrix stabilization in the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
