At the end of last year, we got acquainted with Samsung’s plans for 2022 , which implied the production of about 270-334 million devices. Alas, these plans were not destined to come true: the South Korean edition of The Elec reports that Samsung warehouses are overcrowded, which already include about 50 million smartphones, which is about 15-18% of annual plans. This state of affairs indicates low demand, because in a normal situation, stocks usually do not exceed 10% of the annual volume.
The bulk of that 50 million is made up of the Galaxy A series devices, and according to network whistleblower @UniverseIce, their sales in China are approaching zero due to close competition with Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi. And this time, demand collapsed due to circumstances beyond Samsung’s control: the outbreak of a pandemic in China, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and the subsequent rise in inflation in Europe, which forced buyers to slow down with the purchase of new devices.
