As planned, on July 1, the second part of the fourth season of the sci-fi series Stranger Things / Stranger Things, created by the Duffer brothers, appeared on Netflix on July 1 – the final two episodes are already available in the online cinema in the original voice acting (in English) with Ukrainian and Russian subtitles. Their total running time is almost 4 hours (the eighth series will last 1 hour and 25 minutes, the ninth – almost 2.5 hours).

The first part of the seven-episode season four of Stranger Thing premiered on May 27 and had the best start of any Netflix series, setting an all-time record for most hours watched (286.79 million hours) – since then, the show has firmly held the lead in the overall rating and regional ratings of 75 countries. In fact, the fourth season of Stranger Things has already overtaken the second season of The Bridgertons and now tops the overall rating in the number of hours watched (in the first 28 days of release) – viewers spent $ 930.3 million on the show.
The figures for the final two episodes will be added later, but it is unlikely that Stranger Things will be able to surpass the result of the current leader in the rating of foreign language series, the Korean series The Squid Game, which so far firmly holds the lead with 1.6 billion hours watched over the same period.

The continuation of the series came out three years after the show of the third season – the events in it unfold six months after the previous finale in three different places: many of the main characters remain in Hawkins (served as the setting for the previous three seasons), while Will, Eleven and Jonathan move to California, and Sheriff Jim Hopper goes to jail somewhere in Kamchatka. The sequel will tell about how the main characters will try once and for all to put an end to all trouble and monsters from the underworld, which is called the “Inside Out”.
Actors from previous seasons return to their roles – Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbor, Finn Wolfgard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, Charlie Hitton and Natalia Daer. Season 4 also adds new characters such as Chrissy Cunningham (Grace Van Dien), Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), Argyle (Eduardo Franco) and Vecna|Peter Ballard|Number One (Jamie Campbell Bower plays the main antagonist).
Stranger Things has already picked up for a fifth season, which will conclude the current story arc. By the way, back in 2017, the creators of the project, the Duffer brothers, announced that the show would run for at least four or five seasons, but as part of the February announcement, they hinted at a possible spin-off.
- Netflix has been producing Stranger Things since 2016 and is one of the most popular projects on the streaming service. The series, inspired by the works of Stephen King, is appreciated for its atmosphere, acting and reference to the genre films of the 1980s.
- The third season of Stranger Things was released on July 4, 2019, setting an absolute online cinema record (at the time) with over 40 million Netflix subscribers watching in four days.
- This is the first time Stranger Things has been divided into parts – all previous seasons of the Duffer Brothers series were released in full at once, but Netflix is now increasingly splitting popular shows into parts. Previously, the creators of the show explained this by the fact that the fourth season came out twice as long as the third – the script took more than 800 pages, and the shooting lasted almost two years. The pandemic also played a role here – due to COVID-19, the film was suspended in early 2020 two weeks after the start, and work on the series resumed only in September 2020.
