ASUS held a presentation of ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro – game phones equipped with the most advanced hardware today. The devices are based on the fresh Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with an advanced cooling system designed to ensure stable operation under gaming loads. So, for 30 minutes in Genshin Impact, the temperature of the device did not exceed 44.2 degrees Celsius with an average fps of 59.4. For long gaming sessions, a removable cooler Aeroactive Cooler 6 is provided, which works on the principle of a Peltier element and can reduce temperatures by 25 degrees. With it, a 60-minute game session in Genshin Impact with an average fps of 59.7 did not warm up the smartphone above 37.2 degrees. In AnTuTu, ROG Phone 6 beats out about 1,125,983 points.

An equally important component of successful gaming is the display. Here, the 6.78 “AMOLED panel from Samsung plays the role, the refresh rate of which has increased from 144 to 165 Hz compared to its predecessors. The touchscreen speed has also more than doubled (from 300 to 720 Hz). The device is powered by a two-section 6000 battery. mAh with 65W charging through any of the pair of USB-C connectors (one on the side and one on the bottom), and the 3.5mm audio jack is still there.

Speaking of design, we should mention the redesigned back, which in the case of ROG Phone 6 Pro flaunts a color auxiliary display, which displays notifications about calls, charging status, work mode, and, if desired, an animated splash screen. The base ROG Phone 6 has an RGB panel with the ROG logo instead. Apart from memory configurations, this is the only difference between the two models. It is also noteworthy that ASUS has managed to make the cases of new products resistant to water splashes (IPX4).

At the end there are ultrasonic AirTrigger 6 buttons on the side, which support not only pressing, but also a wide variety of gestures (slide, swipe, double tap, etc.). In addition, when they hold the button, you can set the activation of the gyro control mode, which simplifies aiming in dynamic games. Feedback is designed to provide an improved linear vibration motor and powerful stereo speakers.
In terms of the main cameras, only the main module has changed: the good old 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 has come in place of the 64-megapixel one, and it is still accompanied by a 13-megapixel wide and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. The resolution of the front camera was halved – up to 12 megapixels.
On international shelves ASUS ROG Phone 6 in 12/256 and 16/512 GB configurations for €999 and €1249 in white and black colors. The older ROG Phone 6 Pro is exclusively in white and the only 18/512 GB configuration for €1249. The date of the start of sales has not yet been specified. Aeroactive Cooler 6 is priced at RMB 599.
