PlayStation Stars is a new loyalty program with points that can be used to top up your PSN wallet and purchase from the PS Store

Sony has announced a new loyalty program for PSN users called PlayStation Stars. Its launch will take place later this year (the exact date has not yet been announced), and everyone will be able to participate and win valuable prizes.

The PlayStation Stars program provides rewards for completing various tasks and campaigns. For example, the Monthly Check-In campaign will reward you for launching any game in your library, while others will require you to win a tournament, earn certain trophies, or reach platinum in a particular game to earn rewards.

All PlayStation Stars members will be able to earn Loyalty Points, which can be redeemed in the store to top up their PSN wallet or purchase individual games from the PS Store. As an added benefit, PlayStation Plus subscribers registered with PlayStation Stars will automatically earn points for purchases from the PlayStation Store.

A separate part of PlayStation Stars will be a new type of rewards – “collectible digital items”. Among them will be virtual figures of beloved and iconic game characters and innovative devices from the past. Sony has made it clear that these items are definitely not NFTs , as they cannot be traded or sold.

“We really hope that this new program will stir up memories of past games and at the same time make you excited about the future with PlayStation: celebrate the gaming eras we created together, chart new paths to explore, and unite players for global celebrations”

Sony assures that this is just the beginning and the PlayStation Stars program will continue to develop and expand further. Now the early tests of this program, and its launch is planned later this year with a phased rollout by region.
