The Turkish company Baykar Makina continues to support Ukraine in every possible way and donate Bayraktar TB2 strike drones to Ukrainians (it has already become a kind of tradition after the flash mob “Buy Bayraktar TB2 for Ukrainians” started by Lithuanians ), for which money is raised as part of charitable initiatives around the world. And now the manufacturer has confirmed that he will not take payment for the “Polish” Bayraktar , but will transfer it to Ukraine free of charge, said the initiator of the fundraising campaign, journalist Slavomir Serakovsky.
The “Buy Ukraine Bayraktar” initiative was launched on June 28 on the Zrzutka.pl crowdfunding platform with the goal of raising PLN 22.5 million (over 4.5 million euros) for one drone – on July 24, the campaign goal was achieved. More than 200,000 people have dropped onto UAVs. At the same time, the collection was not closed – it will last until the end of the week. Currently, Zrzutka.pl already has PLN 24.4 million. So, 22.5 million zlotys, which were collected for the drone, the Poles will send to humanitarian aid to Ukrainians. The rest (the excess of funds collected as part of the action) will be transferred to a special account of the Ukrainian National Bank in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
By the way, the Poles have already launched a new initiative in support of Ukraine under the eloquent name “Arm Ukraine” and opened the first fundraiser – they want to raise PLN 8.1 million for three Mi2AM1 evacuation helicopters in 35 days.
