It will be difficult to agree with Russia on a truce before the recapture of the territories of Ukraine occupied after February 24, the president noted.
Ukraine will return to the negotiation process with Russia after the de-occupation of the territories seized after February 24.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Japanese public broadcaster NHK.
“I am convinced that we must recapture all our territories, but we will pay a price for this. We want to return to where we were before February 24. Then we will return to the negotiating table (with Russia – ed.),” Zelensky said.
The head of state added that it would be difficult to negotiate a truce with Russia before the recapture of the territories of Ukraine occupied after February 24.
“Some countries thought that Russia would occupy Ukraine in three days. The third day has passed, three weeks, and already three months. I did not think that Russia’s attempt would be successful, because the world united around Ukraine,” Zelensky added.
Recall that earlier the President of Ukraine said that he was ready to talk with the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin , only if the goal of this dialogue was to end the war.
