President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized Ankara for offering new tourist routes for Russians as their troops barbarously massacre Ukrainian civilians.
The President of Ukraine noted that Turkey is making money at a time when Ukrainians are shedding blood in the war with Russia.
The Ukrainian leader said this in an interview with EPT News .
According to him, on the one hand, Turkey acts as a mediator in the negotiations and supports Ukraine with important steps, and on the other hand, it is preparing several tourist routes at the same time.
“Russian tourism has been bringing a lot of money to Greece for many years. We believe that they earn on blood, and then they take this money. The situation is the same in Turkey. On the one hand, Turkey acts as an intermediary and supports Ukraine with important steps, and on the other hand , we see at the same time the preparation of tourist routes specifically for Russian tourism,” Zelensky said.
In his opinion, if Turkey and Ukraine want to have friendly relations, this should be discussed. At the same time, Zelensky stressed that preparing to receive Russians in Turkey during the summer season is a dishonest step.
“Especially for Russian tourism. We see it too. And I, as president, if we want to have friendly relations, I must say that it is impossible. You can’t handle it like that, it’s a double standard. It’s not fair. That’s why I’m paying attention Turkey for such opportunities, I believe that this cannot be, because a choice must be made – for the truth or not2, – he said.
Recall that hotels in Turkey this year can cancel the reservation of all tourists from Russia . This is explained by the fact that travel companies sending European tourists to Turkey have set an ultimatum that there should be no Russians in the hotels where their clients will live.
