The famous Ukrainian writer Sergei Dyachenko, known to many for a number of fantasy and science fiction novels, has passed away.
The sad news was announced on her Facebook page by Dyachenko’s wife, Marina Dyachenko , who worked with him.
“Sergey Dyachenko. April 14, 1945 – May 5, 2022,” Marina wrote briefly on the social network. The writer did not indicate the cause of her husband’s death. Sergey Dyachenko was 77 years old.

Note that Sergey Dyachenko was born in Kyiv in 1945, in 2009 he moved with his wife to Moscow, in 2013 – to Los Angeles.
Dyachenko wrote in collaboration with his wife. Among their most famous works are the Witch Age trilogy (1997–2020), the Wanderers cycle, the Vita Nostra dilogy (2007, 2021), and the script for the film Inhabited Island (2008).
