Students in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine can finish school remotely: how to do it

As part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science and the private distance school “Atmospheric School” for students in grades 1-11, all applicants for education remaining in the temporarily occupied territories are given the opportunity to complete the academic year free of charge and receive the relevant documents.

To pass the annual assessment remotely, it is enough for parents of students to write an application for admission of a child on the school website and have access to the Internet for training.

This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Under the legal regime of martial law, it is important to ensure the rights of students to continue their education, in particular, to transfer them to the next year of study in the prescribed manner, to issue certificates, certificates and documents on education.

According to the methodological recommendations on certain issues of completing the 2021/2022 academic year, semester assessment for the second semester can be carried out based on the results of:

  • thematic assessment;
  • current assessment received by students during in-person, blended and distance learning;
  • final assessment for the II semester, which can also be carried out through a written test, online testing, diagnostic work, oral interview, etc.

The MES recommends that the annual assessment be carried out on the basis of semester or adjusted grades. Please note that the annual grade is not necessarily the arithmetic average of grades I and II semester.

If students from the number of temporarily displaced persons and from temporarily occupied territories do not have documented results of the assessment of the first semester, annual assessment can be carried out based on the results of the second semester. If students do not have the results of the final assessment for the II semester – according to the results of the I semester, taking into account the current assessment in the II semester.

In the absence of the results of the annual assessment, after the completion of the training, the student has the right to pass the annual assessment by the beginning of the new academic year.
