"Not every terrorist will think of it," – Zelensky about the destruction of the Skovoroda Museum by Russians

The President of Ukraine noted that an army is fighting against Ukraine, which launches rocket attacks on museums. This they want to bring to other European countries.

Last night, the Russian army used a rocket to destroy the museum of Grigory Skovoroda in the Kharkiv region. A rocket to destroy the museum of an 18th-century philosopher and poet who taught people what a genuine Christian attitude to life is and how a person knows himself.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an evening video message.

“It seems that this is a terrible danger for modern Russia: both museums, and a Christian attitude to life, and people’s knowledge of themselves. Every day the Russian army does something that there are no words. But every next day it does something that makes you feel it in a new way. Targeted missile strikes on museums. Not even every terrorist will think of this,” he said.

According to the head of state, this is the kind of army that is fighting against us.

“This is what they want to bring to other European countries. As of May 7, the Russian army has already destroyed or damaged almost 200 cultural heritage sites,” Zelensky summed up.

Recall that on May 6 at 11 p.m., Russian invaders fired on the museum of Grigory Skovoroda. The shell hit the roof of the building. On the territory there was a 35-year-old man who looked after the museum, unfortunately, he was injured. The place is practically destroyed. The most valuable exhibits were saved, they were moved to a safe place in advance.

Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko noted that Skovorodinovka is located far from other villages and infrastructure facilities. Therefore, the occupiers deliberately hit the museum of Grigory Skovoroda. He stressed that Ukraine will definitely fix the elements of the crime together with international experts. The Ministry will send relevant letters to the international community to UNESCO.
