The Rasmus will represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 this year.
Finnish rockers have already managed to get acquainted with representatives of Ukraine – the Kalush Orchestra group.
The Rasmus liked the band’s contest song so much that they almost learned Stefania’s chorus by heart. Moreover, the Finns sang along with the Ukrainians. First, together they performed an excerpt of Stefania, and later – the world-famous composition The Rasmus – In the shadows.
As the musicians of the rock band admitted, they developed friendly relations from the Kalush Orchestra.
“We found a common language, because they are a group, and we are a group. We have a similar group energy. Both we and they know how it is to be together, these are familiar feelings for both. Perhaps that is why it is easy for us to communicate with them”, – shared the lead singer of The Rasmus.
However, the surprises don’t end there. It turns out that the Finnish team liked the music of the Kalush Orchestra so much that they would not mind making a common duet.
“Goosebumps ran through the body when the guys played their pipes. I have never seen anything like this in my life. How he manages to blow into the flute and rattle out with his mouth. It was something incredible. My partners together say that it is brilliant. It would be great to do something with them,” added The Rasmus guitarist.
Note that at the Eurovision 2022 The Rasmus will perform in the second semi-final at number one. The band will perform the song Jezebel.
Kalush Orchestra will represent Ukraine at the first semi-final of the contest under the sixth number with the song Stefania.
The Eurovision 2022 final will take place on May 14. According to the forecasts of bookmakers, Ukraine will win by a wide margin from its competitors. The Rasmus are tipped for 14th place.
