According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian military destroyed the latest version of the Russian T-90M “Proryv” tank. It was developed as part of the Breakthrough-3 project, and for the first time such tanks were presented in the early 1990s. It is known that the T-90 should become a continuation of the T-72.
For the first time, the modification of the T-90M “Breakthrough” was presented to the public on September 9, 2011 during the VIII International Arms Exhibition REA-11. Then it was called T-90MS and was distinguished by the replacement of the old turret with a modern combat module with an improved Kalina control system and an integrated tactical information and control system. Also, the T-90M “Proryv” tank is equipped with a new automatic reloader and an upgraded 2A46M-5 gun and an UDP T05BV-1 anti-aircraft gun.
