The Ministry of Health calls for the termination of the membership of the Russian Federation in the WHO executive committee, to limit the participation of the aggressor country in voting and to move the WHO office for non-communicable diseases from Moscow to Kyiv.
The head of the Ministry of Health, Viktor Lyashko, said that the Russian Federation continues to cynically lie about its atrocities in Ukraine, which it barbarously attacked on February 24.
He wrote about this on Facebook .
“Cynicism and meanness is the whole essence of the Russian Federation! Russia, which started the war in Ukraine led by dictator Putin, sent a letter to the WHO denying its guilt in the deaths and executions of Ukrainians. The aggressor country continues to claim that Ukrainians are killing and destroying themselves their hospitals,” he said in a statement.
Viktor Lyashko noted that Ukraine is accustomed to the manipulations of the Russian Federation and will tell the truth to the whole world. In this regard, speaking at a special session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe, the head of the Ministry of Health once again urged:
- terminate Russia’s membership in the WHO executive committee;
- limit the influence of the aggressor country on decision-making and even voting;
- to officially move the WHO office for noncommunicable diseases from Moscow to a real center around which the countries of Eastern Europe are now united – Kyiv.
“A country whose hands are up to the elbows in blood cannot make decisions in the field of healthcare,” Lyashko wrote.
Earlier, Lyashko reported that the occupiers did not allow vital medicines to pass through checkpoints.
