The cat became famous after the story of her rescue from a destroyed house, which was hit by a Russian missile in March. The animal was left in the house on the 7th floor without water, food and the opportunity to go out. So she lived for about two months.

After the cat was rescued, she became a real star of social networks, she even created her own Instagram account. The long-suffering animal was given the nickname Shafa in honor of a kitchen cabinet in Borodyanka that survived the shelling with dishes and a cockerel.

A photo of the dissatisfied expression of the cat’s face quickly spread across the Internet. Ukrainians on the Web note that the expression of the animal clearly corresponds to the internal anger towards the Russians.

TSN.ua tells the story of a cat, which has become another symbol for Ukrainians in the war against Russia.

In early May, passers-by accidentally noticed a cat destroyed by Russian missiles, after which they wrote a request on social networks to save the four-legged cat. Volunteers from the “Zoopatrul” went to help. To remove the cat from the destroyed and burnt building, a whole rescue operation was organized.

The animal was stuck between the destroyed floors and sat on the stairwell. Volunteers first picked up the drone to make sure the cat was alive. Local rescuers were involved in the rescue, but they did not have the necessary equipment to remove the animal, so they called colleagues from neighboring Irpin. They didn’t refuse to help.

Despite the danger of collapse of building structures, from the upper floors and to the lower ones, the daredevils of the State Emergency Service freed the cat.

Volunteers took Chetyrehpapa to a veterinary clinic in Kyiv, where she received the necessary assistance.

The history of human indifference, the courage of the rescuers and the endurance of the animal made the cat famous.

According to benefactors, after many stories about this cat, many people appeared who wanted to kidnap her even from the hospital.

But the animal was saved here too. Subsequently, the volunteers reported that Shafa gained 1.2 kg and found the owners for him. But soon on May 5, Anastasia Luneva, a resident of Borodyanka, announced that this cat belongs to her family, and her real name is Gloria and she is 12 years old.

According to the woman, on February 27, the family left home for their grandmother, but could not return. The woman said she wants her pet back.

“We provided all possible evidence (photos, registration, contact numbers of volunteers and employees of the State Emergency Service who were asked for help in finding a cat). But, unfortunately, we did not receive any feedback,” she wrote .

Later, the woman complained that the volunteers did not provide her with information about the whereabouts of the cat and did not answer when they would return it to the family.

Anastasia accused the volunteers of looting and even threatened to report them to the police and sue them.

To which the “Zoopatrul” answered that the cat is being treated in Kiev, because she has problems with digestion.

“Our patrol took Shafa to one of the best veterinarians in Kyiv. Every day of treatment costs several thousand hryvnias, we pay for everything necessary. We are responsible for her life and must put Shafa on her paws,” the volunteers said.

Also, subsequently, the organization noted that already 12 people claim that they are the owners of the animal. The philanthropists noted that they will try to find out who really is the owner of the cat and why she was left in this house at all.

But already on May 11, Anastasia Luneva reported that the conflict situation had been resolved and the volunteers would return the animal to her.

“The cat is being treated, under the supervision of doctors. We were given the opportunity to visit her, and we will certainly use it. I hope that after Gloria’s recovery we will be together again. I hope that all the misunderstandings that arose from ZooPatrol UA have been resolved,” she noted female.

Meanwhile, memes with a ginger cat continue to spread in social networks, which has become another symbol of resilience and courage in the war against rashists.

Social media user Artem Gusev noted that “the cat from Borodyanka is the face of the Ukrainian people. Beaten, but not conquered! Alive and full of rage.”
