Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, assessed the so-called Russian special operation in Ukraine as a failure. After all, the stated goal of the Russian Federation was to prevent NATO expansion to the East, and as a result, Finland and Sweden join the Alliance.
Arestovich drew attention to the fact that these are two countries that also border on Russia.
The adviser to the head of the OP told about this in a conversation with Russian human rights activist Mark Feigin.
“As a result of this operation, you were left without an army, and two countries joined NATO. Probably, this is a poorly executed goal of the operation. Somehow it didn’t work out,” Arestovich said.
“NATO should not move to the East. We started this operation so that NATO does not move to the East. The result on the 80th day, relatively speaking, is that two states bordering you joined NATO. A wonderful result. And you were left without an army in parallel. An excellent result, I think. In isolation, under sanctions – outstanding results,” the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office mocked.
Recall that on May 12, Russia threatened that they could hit Finland and Sweden after they joined NATO.
