- Finland has remained neutral for years, largely because of its proximity to Russia. Helsinki believed that it was better not to tease Moscow. Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the country’s authorities have decided to apply for NATO membership immediately.
- With the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Kiev region, more and more well-documented evidence of the killing of civilians by Russian soldiers is emerging. Surveillance cameras near Kyiv show Russian soldiers killing two civilian security guards at a local company. BBC correspondent Sarah Rainsford spoke with friends and relatives of one of the victims.
- Today, Russian troops struck Kremenchuk. BBC correspondent with details of the attack and the situation in other cities.
- The Ukrainian military is conducting a counteroffensive near Kharkiv and has almost reached the border with Russia. BBC correspondent Quentin Somerville and cameraman Darren Convoy spent last week with Ukrainian fighters near the village of Ruska Lozova. Be warned, some footage may be shocking.
