The Kremlin is trying to intimidate its opponents by saying that sanctions against the Russian Federation can lead to almost “apocalyptic” consequences. Thus, Russia desperately wants to avoid imposing restrictions on it.
Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev listed the consequences that, in his opinion, may arise after the introduction of new sanctions against Russia.
Putin’s ally posted a message on his Telegram channel, which began with the words: “FRIDAY 13. What will happen next, or the World after anti-Russian sanctions (not a forecast at all),” Medvedev wrote, trying to intimidate society with “retribution” for sanctions.
According to Medvedev, sanctions against the Russian Federation can lead to new regional wars, epidemics and famine in individual countries. It is also supposedly fraught with a big logistical crisis.
“A number of global supply chains for goods will collapse, a major logistical crisis is possible, including the collapse of the activities of foreign airlines that are prohibited from flying over Russian territory,” he assures.
Medvedev also scares new regional military conflicts and the intensification of terrorism in the West.
“New regional military conflicts will arise in places where the situation has not been peacefully resolved for many years, or the significant interests of major international players are ignored. Terrorists are becoming more active, believing that the attention of Western authorities is now drawn to a showdown with Russia,” Medvedev said.
He added that new epidemics could start due to sanctions and, of course, he mentioned biological weapons.
“New epidemics will begin, caused by the rejection of honest international cooperation in the sanitary and epidemiological sphere or by direct facts of the use of biological weapons,” Medvedev said.
Also, according to him, new international alliances will be created based on pragmatic criteria and, ultimately, a new security architecture will be created with “the collapse of the American-centric world.”
Recall that the President of the European Council believes that a new package of sanctions against Russia with an oil embargo will be supported by all EU countries.
By the way, a day earlier, on May 12, Medvedev threatened NATO with a nuclear war because of “pumping Ukraine with weapons.”
