Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of the state corporation Roscosmos, on his page on the social network Facebook, spoke about plans for the implementation of the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS) project.

It is assumed that in the future, ROSS will replace the International Space Station (ISS), the service life of which is likely to be extended until 2028. ROSS will unite at least five modules that will be launched into orbit from the Plesetsk and Vostochny cosmodromes using Angara-A5 rockets.

According to Mr. Rogozin, Russian specialists are already working on the appearance of the future Russian space complex. “Discussing the configuration and orbit of the new station“, – wrote the head of Roscosmos.

Earlier it was said that ROSS can combine the base and production blocks, a material support module, a platform for assembling, launching, receiving and servicing spacecraft, as well as a commercial module for tourists.

Mr. Rogozin also confirmed that this year two new Russian units are planned to be included in the ISS: this is the Nauka multifunctional laboratory module (MLM) and the Prichal nodal unit. And in 2024, a scientific and energy module (SEM) will go to the ISS.
