Introduction
As a rule, the Chinese company Mixcder offered its users devices at a low price point. Despite the price, the gadgets came out quite interesting and of high quality. We often tested the headphones of this brand in our section android.mobile-review and on the YouTube channel under the heading “That still cat”.
This time Mixcder was sent two models of headphones: full-size E10 (as I understand it, a continuation of E7 ANC) with support for active noise cancellation and the aptX codec and sports in-ear headphones with long battery life and display of the case battery charge right on the case body. Frankly speaking, this is the first time I’ve seen such a solution.
I found them curious, as they look significantly better than previous generations of headphones, and the sound quality is already at a fairly high level, and interesting from a technical point of view. Actually, that’s why I decided to write about Mixcder E10 and T2 on the main site.
The E10 model is the flagship and now costs about 5 rubles, and the T500 model will cost 2 rubles. As usual, when buying on AliExpress, you can also get discounts with coupons. Therefore, it is easy to count on about minus 2 percent of the price.

Appearance, controls
The gadget is a full-size headphone that can be folded: the temples “break” in the center, and the cups turn inward towards the headband. Thus, the E10 transforms from rather large headphones to compact ones. In this state, they can be easily hidden even in a jacket pocket.
From the point of view of design, there is nothing unique here, the model is somewhat reminiscent of “ears” from Sony. The only thing that did well was the attachment of the headband and cups. It uses a dark silver polished metal and has a hole in the center through which you can see the audio cable.
The mount is made conscientiously, there are no questions to it: at least for a couple of weeks of active folding and unfolding, there were no problems.
The headband and ear pads are made of leatherette, and the cups are made of plastic. Despite the usual materials, the Mixcder E10 headphones look good, there is no sense of consumer goods in the worst sense of the word.
On the right cup there is a power button, two separate keys for volume control, active noise cancellation on or off, 3.5 mm cable connection, headphone and ANC indicators.
On the left is microUSB and a charge indicator. Yes, I agree, the manufacturer missed the power connector. Of course, there should have been USB-C here. But, as usual, they saved on everything. I think these microUSBs are now giving away almost for nothing. On the other hand, there are almost 30 hours of sound playback, that is, you will charge this model once a week, or even less often. I absolutely don’t care, because the box is full of cables at home. Even in my backpack I carry USB-C and microUSB cables just in case.
The temples extend approximately 30 mm on each side, so the earbuds will fit over any head. I didn’t push it apart, because the Mixcder E10 sat perfectly on my head, completely immersing my ears in the cups: no pressure, no discomfort. However, it is difficult to sit in headphones longer than a couple of hours – after all, the skin on the ear pads is unnatural, the area around the ears starts to sweat.
About sound
It uses a speaker that is 40mm in size. Slightly more detailed parameters can be found in the technical specifications in the table below:

Initially, I began to test headphones with a Huawei P40 smartphone. However, I found out that this model does not support the aptX codec. Like this: you buy a device for 50 rubles, but it does not “understand” the most common audio codec.
Therefore, I switched to Huawei nova 5T – it is with both GSM and aptX. Well, this is so – a lyrical digression.
Let’s dot the i’s in the active noise cancellation case right away. It works here. Already good. Does the noise suppress? Yes, but not as good as the Bose QC35. In the case of the Mixcder E10, a simple monotonous hum, light rustles, and street noise outside the window are eliminated. However, most of the sounds are still audible.
I have not been in the metro for a month (self-isolation after all), but I am sure that the E10 “noise control” will definitely not cope there.
In general, ANC in the Mixcder model is not a fake, but it works poorly: reduce the noise of the PC, the rumble of the street from the window, slightly muffle the office sounds of typing on the keyboard, the sounds of the copier, and so on. If we compare the Mixcder E10 with the Mixcder E7, then the former cope with noise suppression much better, the quality increase is felt.
Passive sound insulation also helps. She is nice here, your voice is not transmitted by low-frequency mumbling.
The Mixcder headphones clearly emphasized the voice and treble. They are very soft and sonorous. Any male or female part sounds extremely good. And I also liked the stereo panorama, or volume.
Low frequencies are given to the apparatus with little difficulty. If 50 Hz – 70 Hz is still nothing, then 70 – 120 turns into a booming drum. Partially hum can be removed by disabling ANC. The difference is small, but for the better.
There are no deep “bottoms” here. There is a lack of biting and assertiveness, a sharper sound transmission.
Best of all, the headphones cope with classical music, popular, soul or jazz. Heavy music is played well, but some of the sounds turn into a booming barrel.
As a headset
I didn’t like the clarity of the voice. The impression that you are talking on an old push-button cheap phone: intelligibility is not bad, but everything else is at a low level. Below is the file (both phones were on the same network, HD sound).

Working hours
I got about a week and a half of listening for 2-3 hours a day at a volume level of 70% – 80%. With this run time, it is quite difficult to measure accurate data. For example, with ANC turned on, the life time was reduced, but by 20 percent.
Mixcder is charged in 1.5 hours, and just 5 minutes at the outlet gives 2 hours of play.

Headphone case and appearance
This model is quite simple in every sense, so less attention will be paid to it.
The case is made of durable black plastic, reminiscent of the Powerbeats Pro. Moreover, it resembles not only a case, but also headphones.
There is an old microUSB connector on the back, and information about the model on the bottom.
The lid of the case is held by magnets, that is, it just won’t open. Inside, the headphones are neatly laid in a special way: the main part is inserted into the extreme grooves with contact pads for charging, and the ear pads – into their places in the center.
From a design point of view, everything is relatively calm here: the headphones are connected to an elongated module, to which the ear hook fits. On the outside the body of the Mixcder T2 is flat, on one side it is rounded.
The material of the headphones is matte plastic, slightly rough to the touch. The earhook is made of soft rubber.
There is a mechanical button on the front side. It is easy to press, the stroke is minimal, there is a quiet “click” sound. What is important: during pressing, no pressure is created on the eardrum. Some in-ear headphones have this problem. Above is the volume rocker key.
In the auricle, the headphones do not sit well, they almost do not hold, changing the ear pads did not help.
About sound
It should be understood that headphones can work separately from each other, like headsets. Therefore, during pairing with a smartphone, one earphone is connected, then the second, and only then the signals are combined.

In terms of sound quality, everything is very primitive: there are few low frequencies, a lot of midrange and highs. In general, Mixcder T2 in this regard seemed extremely simple to me. Therefore, I will not describe in detail.
As a headset
If both headphones are connected, then the “master” is left. However, there is a microphone in everyone. Therefore, you can use both right and left as a headset.
The sound is transmitted quite loudly, the intelligibility is average, there are a lot of low frequencies, almost no high frequencies. Comments from the interlocutors were as follows: “… it is hard to hear …”, “… something is of poor quality …”, “… are you on speakerphone? ..” and the like. Working hours
For obvious reasons, I used these headphones less. But we managed to find out the following: the operating time is approximately 7-8 hours. The case can be recharged about 5 more times. Let me remind you that the batteries in the headphones are 100 mAh, and in the case – 950 mAh.
One of the main features is the display of the battery charge of the case right on the inside of the lid. It displays information about which headphone is charging at a given time. I have never seen such a solution. Conveniently? Undoubtedly!
Impressions
The Mixcder E10 is a good headphone from all points of view: here the sound quality is quite good, and active noise cancellation is clearly better than most similar gadgets. Another question: would I give 5 rubles for a brand that I don’t quite know? Probably not. I think I would add a small amount and buy some JBL Live 500 – full-size, noise canceling. But this is a matter of taste and your attitude to brands. For example, many people spit on JBL and buy Audio-Technica.
As for the Mixcder T2 model, these are very simple-sounding headphones, but with an impressive “autonomy”: I charged the case once and forgot about the operating time for a month. And displaying the charge on the case will always help you find out the latest information about the case’s battery.
Let me remind you that E10 today cost a little less than 5 rubles, and T500 – just under 2 rubles.
